Tax Justice Network Africa is pleased to invite applications from interested individuals from TJNA member organisations to attend the 2023 International Tax Justice Academy (ITJA) training program.
TJNA will be piloting a revamped training curriculum initially targeted towards its members. The 2023 academy is a foundational level training program for beginners in the tax justice space. The aim is to equip participants to begin their journey as tax justice champions.
This year’s program will be in a hybrid format with the details as follows:
- 1.5 hour online sessions on the 5th 7th , 19th and 21st September, 2023,
- Physical sessions from the 25th to 27th September 2023 in Nairobi, Kenya.
ITJA is a pan-African initiative by TJNA designed to mobilise, empower and inspire citizens across Africa to bridge the existing knowledge gap on tax justice within the continent. This year’s theme will be “Building the next generation of tax justice champions.”
The ITJA 2023 will focus on the following introductory topics:
- Foundations of taxation
- Understanding tax justice
- Foundations of international taxation
- Tax transparency and accountability
- Foundations of tax expenditure
- Natural resource taxation
How to apply
Interested participants are requested to fill out the online application form. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 9 August 2023. Only successful participants will be contacted. Priority will be given to participants who are new to the tax justice space.
